Today we have the war in Iraq. In our past we had the war in Viet Nam. Though there is debate surrounding the question of similarity between the two, it still holds true that while our country is fighting a new war, we are also still dealing with the legacy of one that ended 30 years ago. The certain similarity is that our actions have serious consequences, serious consequences that don't disappear the day the fighting ends. The use of Agent Orange in the Viet Nam war left devastating effects on the environment in Viet Nam and also harmed the Vietnamese as well as American people. No one knows what the war in Iraq will bring, but we do know what was left behind in Viet Nam, and that is something that we can deal with today.
Through this organization
and others we can help support people who are suffering from the effects of
Agent Orange as well learn about the consequences that war brings.
Please follow the links to the side of this page to learn more about the
lasting effects of war on the environment and people in Viet Nam.
