Travel Opportunities to Cuba
By following the links below, you will learn about a variety of ways to visit Cuba.
A growing number of Americans are traveling to Cuba on trips licensed by the US Treasury Department. A wide variety of not-for-profit institutions are now eligible to obtain their own license.
Every year tens of thousands of Americans also go to Cuba through third countries in violation of the US travel ban.
USCRI does not advocate unlawful conduct. Our view is that the policy should be changed, and that travel to Cuba should be lawful for any American wishing to go, even if the purpose is simply tourism or personal curiosity about life in Cuba today.
The US law which denies Americans the freedom to travel to Cuba is an anachronism of the Cold War and is completely counterproductive to proclaimed US policy goals.
The continued existence of the travel ban is evidence that the political and financial power of special interests can supersede the national and humanitarian interest of both the American and Cuban people.
If you share our view that travel restrictions must end now, we urge you to write to the President, your Senators and Representative and to local newspapers. If you wish to join with other Americans campaigning to restore our freedom of travel, please contact the Cuba program officer.
